A decade ago, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai opened its doors to discerning guests. 2007 has witnessed a dynamic change in location as the hotel is now positioned as an intimate retreat in the heart of Dubai Marina. Situated directly on Jumeirah Beach, all rooms have views over the pool, the Arabian Gulf and 35,000 meters of beautiful gardens which create a haven of peace amidst the cityscape. As the city of Dubai continues its extensive and exciting expansion, the Jumeirah Beach Residence development and Marina Walk which is situated near the hotel, nears completion. The latest information from the developers, Dubai Properties, states that it is expected to be fully completed by the 1st quarter of 2008. At the moment, the exterior work is in its final stages with paving and retail store signage being put in place. Drawing inspiration from other waterfront developments in the world's most high-profile cities, Dubai Marina is now globally acknowledged as the UAE's only waterfront city that possesses a character that allows for a vibrant, free-spirited lifestyle; it is the Middle East's answer to the French Riviera. This premier project has spawned a whole new generation of lifestyle communities in Dubai's new growth corridor. The Marina itself is located around a 3.6 kilometre man made water channel covering a total area of more than 50 million square feet. Encompassing more than 200 apartment towers as well as numerous luxury villas, the Marina development will be home to nearly 70,000 people. The Jumeirah Beach Residences consist of 36 towers that straddle the strip of land between the marina canal and the sea. They form a major element of the Dubai Marina development. Completion is expected in early 2008 but many residents have already moved in. Marina Walk, which lies opposite The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai will consist of an exclusive promenade of multi-cuisine fine dining restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and retail outlets. Retailers include ladies fashion brands such as Monsoon and Mango. Business institutions and banks will also feature. Some stores and restaurants have already opened for business, including ‘Frankies’, a joint venture between celebrity chef, Marco Pierre White and jockey, Frankie Dettori – the remainder will be operational in 2008. The Palm, Jumeirah, another exciting development within the area, may be seen from the hotel and grounds. It is however situated 4 kilometers out to sea and the guests are not disturbed by any noise on the island, nor has the beach or sea quality been affected. |
