Desert Palm is only a 12 minute drive from the airport. Taxis:
Taxis are the most common way of getting around in Dubai and there are a number of metered cabs in the city which operate 24 hours a day. The fare starts at AED 6.00 for a pick-up (AED 7.00 from 10pm - 6am), followed by AED 1.80 per kilometer. Dubai transport taxis also operate a service from the airport and the pick up fee starts at AED 20.00. It's also possible to hire a taxi for a 12 hour period at a fixed fee of AED 500.00 or a mini bus at AED 600.00. Car Hire:
Self drive cars are available from a range of local and internationally renowned car rental companies. Customers must produce their passport together with a valid driving license. Most visitors without an international driving license may obtain a temporary local driving license as long as they hold a valid national license. Our team can assist you with all phases of planning a private car hire to the last detail. Water taxis: an interesting way to travel between Dubai and Deira, for a nominal sum, is by abra (water taxi) across the creek.
